The Medical and Health Services Cooperative Credit Union (MHSCCU) proudly held its 2025 annual general meeting (AGM) on Saturday, 19th July 2025. This year’s AGM marked a milestone in our commitment to transparency, accountability, and member empowerment.
Held at NACCUG, the event brought together hundreds of valued members, stakeholders, and invited guests under the theme empowering members, strengthening communities.
Key highlights of the AGM included:
Presentation of the 2024 audited financial report
- Karim S Darboe, treasurer of the Union reveals that the union’s net operating income increased from D24.8M in 2023 to 28.1M in 2024 with expenses increasing from 19.7M in 2023 to D22.5M in 2024.
- Darboe also reveals that the MHSCCU liquidity ratio also moved from 10% in 2023 to 27% in 2024.
- Darboe, continued by urging members to improve and continue saving regularly and repay loans on time.
- Darboe concluded his speech assuring that the Union will continue working hard to improve its financial performance in the coming years by improving income generating capacity as well as effective implementation of identified internal control.
- Mrs Horeja Saine, Chair of the Union also highlighted a wide range of available products including consumer loans, electronics loans, School Fee Loans offered at competitive rates.
- She further reveals that board has approved plans for the introduction of new loan categories namely Car Loans and Building Loan.
- She reported the expansion of branches to improve accessibility across the country notably, new branch in Jarra Soma was commissioned in 2024, bringing the total number of branches to eight (8) including headquarters in Kanifing.
- She said, to support operational, MHSCCU has recruited additional personnel including operation, marketing, internal audit tellers and IT assistant.
The AGM showcased the union’s continued commitment to empowering its members and aspiring members through strategic service delivery and inclusive financial opportunities.
In review of the union’s performance and achievement, Members were given the opportunity to voice their concerns, ask questions and make recommendations to strengthen the unions services and growth strateg.
